About this calculator
This calculator uses the basic kinematic relationship speed = distance ÷ time to find average speed, or rearranges it to solve for distance (speed × time) or time (distance ÷ speed) given the other two values. Average speed differs from instantaneous speed — it's the total distance traveled divided by the total time elapsed, regardless of how the speed varied along the way.
