About this calculator

Bounce rate is a web analytics metric — most familiar from tools like Google Analytics — that measures the share of sessions in which a visitor viewed only a single page and left without any further interaction: bounce rate = single-page sessions ÷ total sessions. Its complement, the engaged-session rate, is simply 1 minus the bounce rate.

A high bounce rate can signal a landing page that doesn’t match visitor intent, a slow page load, or content that fully answers a question in one view (which isn’t always bad, depending on the page’s goal). Marketers, SEO specialists, and UX designers monitor bounce rate per page or traffic source to diagnose where visitors are dropping off before converting or exploring further.
