About this calculator

A flexible chimney liner needs to run the full height of the chimney from the appliance connection at the bottom to above the chimney pot at the top, plus extra length for the connector fittings and a small allowance for the bends a flexible liner takes as it is fed down — so ordering exactly the measured chimney height typically comes up short. Cost then follows directly from that ordered length multiplied by the price per meter, plus fittings like the top plate, cowl and connector.

Homeowners installing a wood-burning stove or open-fire liner, and the HVAC or chimney technicians who fit them, use this calculation to order the correct liner length in one purchase, since flexible liner is typically sold by the meter and running short mid-installation means a costly second delivery — or worse, a joint partway up a flue where none should exist.

This calculator takes your chimney height and returns the liner length to order and its total cost, so you can budget and purchase the right amount before the job starts.
