About this calculator
This calculator multiplies a slab's length × width × thickness to find the raw concrete volume, then adds a waste allowance (typically 5–10%) on top to cover spillage, uneven subgrade and over-excavation — the amount contractors actually order is always more than the theoretical volume.
It's used by contractors and DIYers pouring patios, driveways, sidewalks and slab foundations to figure out how many cubic yards or bags of premix to buy before the truck shows up, since running short mid-pour is a real problem.
