About this calculator

This calculator divides your total dough weight by the weight portioned out per cookie (your scoop size) to estimate how many cookies a batch will yield. Bakers commonly measure scoop size using standardized disher/scoop numbers — for example, a #40 scoop holds about 1.5 tablespoons (roughly 20 g of dough) and a #24 scoop about 2.7 tablespoons (roughly 45–50 g) — so knowing the scoop number, or simply weighing a single portion on a kitchen scale, gives an accurate input.

Getting yield right matters for recipe scaling and batch-costing: home bakers use it to know how many trays they'll need to bake, while commercial and home-bakery sellers use it to calculate per-cookie ingredient cost and set consistent pricing, since scoop-based portioning keeps every cookie close to the same size and bake time.
