About this calculator

This calculator finds the destination coordinates after traveling a given bearing and distance from a starting latitude/longitude, using the great-circle (spherical) navigation formula that accounts for the Earth's curvature — the same method behind dead-reckoning navigation.

Sailors, pilots, hikers planning a route, and GIS or mapping developers use it to plot a course or predict a position without a full navigation chart. Enter the starting coordinates, bearing, and distance to get the destination latitude and longitude.
