About this calculator
This calculator applies P = V × I (power equals voltage times current) to find electrical power in watts from a given voltage and current, and can also solve for voltage or current if power and one of the other two values are known.
It's used by electricians and hobbyists sizing wiring, fuses and circuit breakers, by anyone checking whether an appliance's amp draw fits a circuit's rating, and by students working through basic circuit problems.
