About this calculator
This calculator separates gross revenue — total sales before anything is subtracted — from net revenue, which subtracts returns, discounts and fees: net revenue = gross revenue − (returns + discounts + fees). It also expresses the result as a deduction percentage (deductions ÷ gross) and a net percentage (net ÷ gross) so the impact is easy to compare across periods.
E-commerce sellers use this to reconcile what a marketplace like Amazon or Etsy actually pays out after referral fees, refunds and promotional discounts against the sticker-price sales total, and accountants and business owners use the gross-to-net breakdown when preparing income statements or tracking how much of each sales dollar is actually kept.
