Splitting a group gift is basic per-person division — the total gift cost divided by the number of contributors — but this calculator adds the practical wrinkle real organizers deal with: optional rounding up to a clean increment like the nearest $5 or $10, so nobody has to venmo someone $13.47. The rounded-up total is collected, and the small excess either pads the gift, covers a card, or is simply absorbed as a courtesy.

This is the same math used by office gift pools, wedding or baby shower group presents, and friend-group collections: enter the gift total and the number of people chipping in, and it returns the even per-person share (plain or rounded) along with the adjusted total collected.
