About this calculator

Hydraulic power measures how much energy a pump or system delivers by pressurizing and moving fluid, calculated as power = pressure × flow rate. In metric units this works out to P(kW) = p(bar) × Q(L/min) ÷ 600, a shortcut hydraulic engineers use constantly when sizing components.

This figure is central to designing and troubleshooting hydraulic systems — excavators, presses, injection molding machines, and industrial pumps all depend on matching pump output power to the load they need to move. Mechanical and hydraulic engineers use it to select motors and pumps, while maintenance technicians use it to verify a system is performing to spec, converting the result to horsepower when comparing against a prime mover's rated output.
