About this calculator

Cost per lead only tells half the story — what matters for the bottom line is the cost to acquire a paying customer, which depends on how many of those leads actually convert. The formula is simple: Cost per customer = Cost per lead ÷ conversion rate, so a $50 lead with a 10% close rate really costs $500 per customer.

Sales and marketing teams use this figure to judge whether a channel is actually profitable once you account for the full funnel, not just the top of it, and to compare channels that generate cheap-but-low-quality leads against ones that generate expensive-but-high-converting leads. It's a core input into customer acquisition cost (CAC) analysis used across SaaS, e-commerce, and B2B sales organizations.
