About this calculator

When two solutions of different concentrations are combined, the resulting concentration isn't a simple average of the two — it's a volume-weighted average: c_final = (c1·v1 + c2·v2) / (v1 + v2). A solution with a larger volume pulls the final concentration closer to its own value.

This formula is standard in chemistry labs, pharmacy compounding, and industrial dilution work, wherever a stock solution needs to be diluted or two batches of differing strength need to be combined to hit a target concentration — from preparing a buffer at the bench to blending cleaning-chemical concentrates to spec.
