About this calculator

A pangram is a sentence that uses every letter of the alphabet at least once — the classic English example is "The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog," which packs all 26 letters into 33 characters. This tool scans your text, tracks which of the 26 letters have appeared (case-insensitively), and reports both whether it's a full pangram and exactly which letters are missing if it isn't.

Font and type designers use pangrams as specimen text because a single short sentence lets them preview every letterform's shape, spacing and kerning at once. Typing teachers and puzzle writers use them for practice drills and word games, while QA testers use pangrams to quickly check that a font, encoding or rendering pipeline displays the full alphabet correctly.
