About this calculator

Reverse percentage calculations work backward from a final value to find the original number before a percentage change was applied — for example, finding the pre-tax price from a tax-inclusive total, or the original salary before a raise, by dividing the final value by (1 plus or minus the percentage) rather than by directly applying the percentage to the final figure, which is a common calculation mistake.
