About this calculator

This calculator encodes or decodes text with ROT47, a Caesar-style cipher that rotates all 94 printable ASCII characters (codes 33-126, covering letters, digits, and symbols) by 47 positions instead of just rotating the 26-letter alphabet like classic ROT13.

Because ROT47 is self-inverse — applying it twice returns the original text — developers and forum users use it to casually obscure spoilers, code snippets, or puzzle answers from a quick glance without needing a decode step. Enter text to transform it; running the result through ROT47 again restores the original.
