About this calculator

A triangle's area is given by the familiar formula area = ½ × base × height, and rearranging it to solve for height instead gives height = 2 × area ÷ base. This is the reverse of the usual area calculation — instead of computing area from known dimensions, it recovers a missing dimension from a known area and base.

This calculator applies that rearranged formula to find a triangle's height given its area and base length. It's a common step in geometry coursework and practical measurement problems — surveyors, carpenters, and designers sometimes know a plot's or panel's area (from a deed, a spec, or a material constraint) and a base length, and need to back out the corresponding height to lay out the actual triangle correctly.
