About this calculator

Adding business days to a date is different from simple date arithmetic because it must skip non-working days — the calculator steps forward one calendar day at a time from the start date, counting only Monday through Friday and skipping every Saturday and Sunday, until it has counted off the requested number of business days, landing on the resulting working date.

This is the standard way contracts, invoices, shipping estimates and legal notices phrase deadlines — “within 5 business days” or “net 30 business days” — because it gives a predictable timeframe that isn’t distorted by which day of the week the countdown happens to start on. Project managers, payroll administrators and anyone tracking a shipping or legal deadline use it to find the exact working date a commitment falls on; note that this counts only weekends, not public holidays, unless your specific deadline explicitly excludes those too. Pick a start date and the number of business days to add.
