About this calculator

This calculator finds your BMI Prime, a simple ratio of your BMI to 25 kg/m² — the upper boundary of the normal weight range. A BMI Prime of exactly 1.0 sits right at that boundary; below 1.0 means your BMI falls under the “normal” ceiling, and above 1.0 shows by how much it exceeds it (a value of 1.20, for example, means your BMI is 20% above that threshold).

It's used the same way BMI itself is used — by clinicians, researchers, and fitness trackers as a quick screening number — but it makes it easier to see at a glance how far someone's BMI sits from the normal-weight cutoff, in either direction.
