About this calculator

Cost per click (CPC = total ad spend ÷ total clicks) is the simplest efficiency metric in paid advertising, but it's easy to compute wrong by mixing spend and clicks from different campaigns or date ranges — this calculator gives the true blended CPC for whatever spend and click totals you enter, which can differ noticeably from the "average CPC" shown in ad platform dashboards if that average is itself an average of per-ad-group bids rather than spend-weighted.

PPC managers running Google Ads, Meta Ads, or Bing campaigns use blended CPC to compare channels, ad groups, or time periods on equal footing, and to sanity-check whether an auction-based bidding strategy is actually delivering the cost efficiency it promises. It's also the starting input for downstream metrics like cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, since CPC × clicks-to-conversion-rate directly determines what a customer costs to acquire.
