About this calculator
The risk/reward ratio compares how much a trade stands to lose against how much it stands to gain: the distance from entry price to stop-loss price (the risk) against the distance from entry price to target price (the reward). A ratio of 1:3, for example, means the potential profit is three times the potential loss if the trade goes as planned.
Because crypto markets move fast and can gap sharply through stop levels, disciplined traders check this ratio before entering a position rather than after, using it as a filter — many trading plans set a minimum acceptable ratio (commonly 1:2 or better) so that even a trading strategy with a modest win rate can still be profitable over many trades.
