About this calculator

Newborns typically go through 8–12 diaper changes a day, gradually dropping to roughly 6–8 changes by the time a baby is walking, and fewer still through the toddler years leading up to potty training. This calculator multiplies your daily diaper count by days remaining until your target potty-training age to project total diapers needed, then multiplies by price per diaper to estimate the total remaining cost.

Because usage rate drops significantly as a baby ages — and most families cycle through several sizes along the way as the child grows — a flat daily-rate estimate is most accurate over shorter windows, with periodic recalculation as usage slows. New and expecting parents, and childcare centers billing supply costs use this kind of projection to budget for diapers, compare the cost of disposables versus cloth diapering, or plan bulk purchases around sales.
