About this calculator

This calculator estimates how the air actually feels to your body rather than what the thermometer reads, using two different formulas depending on conditions: wind chill, which accounts for how moving air strips heat away from exposed skin in cold weather, and the heat index, which accounts for how high humidity prevents sweat from evaporating and cooling you down in hot weather.

It's the same 'feels like' or 'real feel' figure shown by weather services and forecasters, and it matters because the actual air temperature alone can be misleading — 30°C at low humidity is far more tolerable than 30°C at 90% humidity, and -5°C in calm air is far milder than -5°C with a strong wind. Outdoor workers, athletes, event planners and parents dressing kids for school use it to judge frostbite or heat-exhaustion risk more accurately than the raw temperature alone.
