About this calculator
Video is a sequence of still images displayed fast enough to appear as motion, and the total number of frames in a clip is simply duration × frame rate (fps) — a 10-second clip at 24 fps contains exactly 240 frames. The inverse, 1 ÷ fps, gives the exact duration each single frame occupies, which matters for frame-accurate trimming and syncing.
This calculator takes a clip's duration and frame rate and returns the total frame count along with the per-frame duration. Video editors and colorists use it to plan cuts down to the exact frame, animators use it to budget how many individual frames a shot requires to draw or render, and VFX and motion graphics artists use it when converting timecodes between different frame rates like 24, 25, 30, and 60 fps.
