About this calculator

Glove sizing is based on hand circumference — measured around the palm at its widest point, just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. This calculator takes that measurement in centimeters and converts it into a numeric glove size (roughly the circumference in inches, the traditional glove-sizing unit), the equivalent letter size from XS to XXL used by most clothing and safety-equipment brands, and the raw value in inches.

Accurate sizing matters for both fashion gloves, where a snug fit affects dexterity and appearance, and work and safety gloves (mechanic's, medical, or winter gloves), where a size that's too loose reduces grip and control while one that's too tight causes fatigue and restricts circulation during extended wear. Retailers and PPE buyers commonly reference size charts built exactly on this circumference-to-letter-size mapping.
