About this calculator

Import duty is calculated by applying a tariff rate (set by the destination country's harmonized tariff schedule, based on the product's HS code) to the customs value of goods — typically the CIF value (cost, insurance, freight). Adding that duty plus other charges like brokerage fees, customs processing fees, and applicable taxes (VAT/GST) to the goods value gives the total landed cost — what the goods actually cost once they clear customs.

Importers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers run this calculation to quote accurate pricing before goods ship, and e-commerce sellers doing cross-border fulfillment use it to set retail prices that don't get eaten alive by duties they forgot to budget for.
