About this calculator

Rather than pulling truly random words each time, this generator derives its word choices deterministically from a seed value, so entering the same seed, word count and separator always reproduces the exact same passphrase — useful for regenerating a phrase you’ve seen before without having to store it anywhere. Its security still comes from randomness in the underlying seed and word list, and its strength is measured as entropy = log2(wordlist size) × number of words, following the same logic as the well-known Diceware method.

A memorable multi-word phrase like “correct-horse-battery-staple” is typically both easier to recall and, at sufficient word count, harder to brute-force than a short string of random symbols. Security-conscious users, sysadmins and developers generating master passwords or crypto-wallet-style recovery phrases use tools like this to balance memorability against measurable, reportable entropy.
