About this calculator

A percentage raise computes the new salary as new salary = current salary × (1 + raise%), while a fixed-amount raise is simply new salary = current salary + raise amount; either way, the increase amount is the difference between the two, and can be shown per year, month, or hour depending on the pay basis entered.

Employees use this to check what a proposed raise, whether quoted as a percentage or a flat sum, actually means for their take-home pay before it hits a payslip, and HR teams and managers use the same math when budgeting annual raise pools or comparing offer letters.
