About this calculator

This calculator applies a single combined tax-and-deduction rate to your gross salary to estimate net pay: it divides your annual gross by the number of pay periods per year, then subtracts that flat percentage to get take-home per paycheck, and multiplies back out for the annual total. It's a simplification — real paychecks stack federal, state, Social Security, Medicare and benefit deductions separately — but a single blended rate is enough for quick budgeting.

Job seekers comparing offers use it to sanity-check a quoted salary against what will actually land in the bank, and anyone negotiating a raise or a new pay frequency (weekly vs. biweekly vs. monthly) uses it to see how the per-check amount shifts even when the annual total doesn't.
