About this calculator

Pick-and-pack cost is the labor and materials expense a warehouse incurs to fulfill a single order, typically modeled as a base handling fee (covering picking the first item and packing the box) plus a per-extra-item fee for each additional SKU or unit, plus the cost of boxes, void fill, tape and labels. This calculator sums those three components to give a per-order fulfillment cost you can compare against what a 3PL charges or what you're actually spending in-house.

E-commerce sellers use it to check whether a third-party logistics provider's quote is competitive, while warehouse operations managers use the same breakdown to price internal fulfillment, set customer shipping thresholds, and spot line items — like packaging waste or excessive per-item fees on multi-SKU orders — that are eating into margin.
