About this calculator

This converter bridges screen and print typography by translating CSS pixels into points and picas using the CSS specification's fixed reference of 96px per inch. Since a point is defined as 1/72 of an inch, 1 CSS pixel equals exactly 0.75 points (96 ÷ 72 × 1 = 0.75), and since a pica equals 12 points, the calculator also derives the pica value for layout work that mixes both units.

Web designers handing off mockups to print, typographers setting consistent type scales across web and PDF output, and developers translating a print-based style guide into CSS use this to avoid the common error of treating pixels and points as interchangeable — a 16px web font is not “16pt” on paper, it's 12pt, a distinction that matters when a brand's print and digital type sizes need to match visually.
