About this calculator

Ordering enough pizza for a group comes down to a simple ratio: total slices needed = guest count × slices per guest (commonly 3 slices for a typical adult appetite), divided by slices per pizza (usually 8 for a standard large) — and the result is always rounded up, since a fractional pizza still has to be ordered whole.

Rounding up matters because underordering means someone goes hungry, while the cost of ordering one extra whole pizza is small relative to running short at a party — so this calculator deliberately errs toward slightly more rather than exactly enough.

Adjust the slices-per-guest figure up for a lunch or dinner crowd, or down if pizza is served alongside other food, and this calculator converts your guest count directly into a pizza order.
