About this calculator
Staking is how many proof-of-stake (PoS) cryptocurrency networks reward holders for locking up their tokens to help validate transactions and secure the network — in return, stakers earn additional tokens, typically quoted as an annual percentage yield (APY) that compounds as rewards are added back to the staked balance and start earning further rewards themselves.
Because staking rewards compound, the growth curve follows the same math as compound interest: final balance = staked amount × (1 + APY/compounding periods)^(periods × time). This calculator projects how a staked amount grows over a chosen time period at a given APY, which is useful for crypto holders comparing staking returns across different networks or estimating what a position could grow into if rewards are left to compound.
