About this calculator
This calculator finds torque using τ = F × r × sin(θ) — the rotational force produced by a force applied at a distance from a pivot point, at a given angle. Change the angle and you can see how the same push produces less turning effect the further it drifts from perpendicular.
Mechanics use it to check bolt tightening specs, engineers use it when sizing motors and gearboxes, and physics students use it for lever and rotation problems. Anything with a wrench, a hinge, or a spinning shaft involves torque.
