About this calculator

The wall sit is an isometric lower-body endurance test: you slide your back down a wall until your thighs are parallel to the floor (knees at roughly 90°) and hold that static squat position as long as possible, with the clock stopping when your form breaks or you stand up. Because there’s no movement, it isolates muscular endurance in the quadriceps, glutes, and hip stabilizers rather than strength or power, which is why it shows up in fitness testing batteries, physical therapy assessments, and youth/military fitness norm tables.

This calculator compares your hold time against published norm tables broken down by sex, ranking you from excellent through above average, average, below average, and poor, and tells you how many additional seconds you’d need to reach the next rating band — the same kind of benchmarking a coach or trainer would use to track progress over a training cycle.
