About this calculator

The Wingate Anaerobic Test is a 30-second all-out cycling sprint against a fixed resistance (typically set as a percentage of body weight) on a stationary bike, and it is the classic laboratory standard for measuring anaerobic power — the energy your body can generate rapidly from stored phosphagens and glycolysis without oxygen. Peak power is calculated from the resistance and the highest pedal revolution count in any 5-second window, while relative power divides that figure by body weight to allow fair comparison between athletes of different sizes.

Sports scientists and strength coaches use Wingate testing to assess anaerobic capacity in sports built on short, explosive efforts — sprinting, ice hockey, rugby and combat sports — and it remains a gold-standard method for tracking anaerobic power development and fatigue index across a training block.

This calculator takes your test resistance and pedal revolution counts and returns your peak anaerobic power and relative power per kilogram of body weight.
