About this calculator

The CRUSADE bleeding score (from the CRUSADE registry — Can Rapid risk stratification of Unstable angina patients Suppress ADverse outcomes with Early implementation of the ACC/AHA guidelines) predicts the risk of major bleeding during hospitalization for patients with acute coronary syndromes such as NSTEMI. It's built from eight weighted inputs: baseline hematocrit, calculated creatinine clearance, heart rate, sex, signs of congestive heart failure, prior vascular disease, diabetes, and systolic blood pressure.

Each factor contributes points to a total score that maps to a bleeding-risk category from very low to very high. Cardiologists and interventional teams use it alongside ischemic-risk scores to balance how aggressively to anticoagulate an ACS patient — since the drugs that reduce clot risk also raise bleeding risk. This tool is for clinical reference only and is not medical advice.
