Given your current grade, the weight of the final exam, and the grade you want to end up with, this calculator solves backward using target = (goal − current × (1 − examWeight)) / examWeight to tell you exactly what score you need on the final.

Students use it before finals week to know whether they can afford a bad day, need a solid pass, or are already safe regardless of the exam result, and it's equally useful for figuring out the minimum score needed just to avoid a failing grade. The calculator flags when the required score is impossible (over 100%) or already guaranteed (0% or below), so it's clear when the target is truly out of reach.
