Honor Roll (Takdir/Teşekkür) Calculator

Enter your course grades separated by commas; we compute your year-end average and tell you whether you earn a High Honor (Takdir, ≥85) or Honor (Teşekkür, ≥70) certificate under Turkish MEB rules, plus how many points to the next tier.

Average must be 85+ for High Honor and 70+ for Honor (Turkish MEB rules), with no disciplinary penalty.

Result

High Honor (Takdir)
85.62
Highest tier

How it is calculated

The tool follows the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MEB) year-end rule. It takes the average of your course grades, average = sum of grades / number of grades, and classifies it: 85 or above gives the high honour certificate (Takdir), 70 up to 84.99 gives the honour certificate (Teşekkür), and anything lower gives none. It also shows how many points the average is short of the next tier. Grades can be separated by commas, semicolons or spaces and only values from 0 to 100 are counted; others are ignored. The average is a plain one, so every course counts equally. Real certificates also depend on conduct and other school rules the tool does not check.

Worked example

Eight yearly course grades: 90, 85, 78, 92, 88, 76, 95, 81. Their sum is 685 and there are 8 grades, so the average is 685 / 8 = 85.63 (85.625 rounded). That is at or above 85, so the result is the High Honor (Takdir) tier, and the "to next tier" field shows the highest tier. If the average had been 82, the tool would show Teşekkür and 3.00 points to reach Takdir.

Common mistakes

  • Typing grades with a decimal comma in a comma-separated list, which splits one grade into two numbers.
  • Leaving out a course, or adding a non-graded one, which changes the plain average.
  • Using a 5-point or 4.0 scale instead of the 0 to 100 scale.
  • Assuming a rounded display of 85.00 reaches Takdir when the real average is 84.996.
  • Forgetting that conduct and attendance rules also affect the actual certificate.

About this calculator

This tool averages a student's entered course grades and checks the result against the Turkish Ministry of National Education's (MEB) thresholds for end-of-year recognition: a yearly average of 85 or above earns a High Honor certificate (Takdir Belgesi), and 70 or above earns an Honor certificate (Teşekkür Belgesi). It also reports exactly how many points separate the student from the next tier, so a student sitting at 83 can see they need just two more average points to reach Takdir.

It is used by middle and high school students and parents in Turkey at the end of each term, when report cards list individual course grades but families still have to do the averaging and threshold-checking themselves. Teachers and school counselors also use quick calculations like this to explain to students how a single low grade can pull the yearly average below a certificate cutoff, and how much a grade needs to improve to fix it.
