Splitting a restaurant bill evenly shortchanges the person who ordered a side salad and overcharges the one who got the surf-and-turf. An itemized split instead assigns each dish to whoever ordered it, sums each person's subtotal, and then distributes the bill's tax and tip proportionally — so someone whose order made up 30% of the pre-tax subtotal also covers 30% of the tax and tip, rather than an equal per-head share.

This calculator lets you list everyone at the table along with their individual items and prices, then automatically works out each person's fair total including their share of tax and tip. Groups of friends splitting a dinner check, coworkers expensing a shared meal, and roommates dividing a group order use it to settle up accurately without anyone doing napkin math or feeling shortchanged over who ordered the $40 steak.
