About this calculator

ISO 639-1 is the two-letter language code standard behind the “lang” attribute in HTML, browser locale settings, and most translation and localization software — “en” for English, “tr” for Turkish, “ja” for Japanese, and so on for roughly 180 languages. This tool looks the codes up in both directions: type a code to get the language name, or type a name to find its code.

It's a quick reference for web developers and localization engineers setting the lang attribute correctly for accessibility and SEO, and for anyone working with CSV exports, API responses, or config files that store languages as two-letter codes instead of full names.
