About this calculator

Lead Velocity Rate measures the month-over-month growth of qualified leads: it takes this month's qualified lead count, subtracts last month's, divides by last month's count and expresses the result as a percentage. Unlike MRR growth or bookings, which report what already happened, LVR is a leading indicator — it moves before revenue does, because today's qualified pipeline predicts tomorrow's closed deals.

SaaS sales and marketing teams watch LVR as an early-warning KPI: a slowing or negative LVR flags a future revenue slowdown weeks or months before it would show up in the sales numbers, giving leadership time to adjust demand-generation spend or campaigns before the pipeline actually runs dry. Board decks for growth-stage SaaS companies frequently feature LVR alongside MRR precisely because it is forward-looking rather than backward-looking.

This calculator takes this month's and last month's qualified lead counts and returns the month-over-month lead velocity rate, so you can track how fast — or how slowly — your pipeline is building before it turns into revenue.
