About this calculator

Crypto mining profitability compares what mining hardware earns in coin rewards (based on hash rate, network difficulty, and the coin's block reward) against the cost of running it — chiefly electricity, calculated from the rig's power draw in watts and your local electricity rate. Subtracting power cost from mining revenue gives net daily or monthly profit, and dividing the hardware's purchase price by that net profit gives the payback period.

Miners use this calculation before buying new hardware to see whether it will pay for itself before it becomes obsolete or before network difficulty rises enough to erode margins, and to compare different rigs or coins by profit-per-dollar-of-electricity. Because network difficulty and coin prices are volatile, profitability estimates are a snapshot, not a guarantee — the same hardware can go from profitable to unprofitable as conditions change.

This calculator takes your hash rate, power consumption, electricity rate, and hardware cost and returns estimated mining profit and payback time.
