Etsy charges sellers three separate fees on every sale. There is a small flat listing fee (charged when an item is listed or renewed, roughly every four months or upon sale), a transaction fee taken as a percentage of the item price plus the shipping you charge, and a payment processing fee — a percentage of the total plus a small fixed amount per order, similar to a card-processor fee — deducted when the buyer pays through Etsy Payments. Rates differ slightly by country, since payment processing is priced per currency and banking region.

Because all three fees come out before the seller ever sees the money, many Etsy shop owners underprice their listings without realizing how much is subtracted. This calculator adds the listing fee, transaction fee, and payment fee together and subtracts them from the item price so you can see your true net earnings per sale — useful for pricing decisions, cost-plus markup, and comparing Etsy's take against other marketplaces.
