Wordle Letter Position Calculator

About this calculator

This calculator estimates how many candidate letters remain possible for each unsolved position in a Wordle-style puzzle, based on what you’ve already learned: green (correct-position) letters lock that slot to a single known letter, while letters you’ve excluded (grayed out as not-in-the-word) are removed from consideration in every remaining unknown slot. The result is a rough count of the letter possibility space still open at each position, and a combined estimate across all unknown slots together.

It’s a simple counting exercise in combinatorics, not a word-list solver — it doesn’t check which combinations spell real English words — but it’s a quick way for players to see how much a guess has actually narrowed things down before committing to solvers or full word lists.
