About this calculator

The IPF GL (Goodlift) formula is the official scoring system the International Powerlifting Federation uses to compare raw powerlifting totals across different bodyweights and between men and women, replacing the older Wilks formula in IPF competitions. Rather than a fixed exponent curve, the GL formula uses bodyweight- and sex-specific polynomial coefficients fitted to real competition data, converting a lifter's total (squat + bench + deadlift) into a normalized points score.

Meet directors and IPF-affiliated federations use GL points to determine 'Best Lifter' awards at competitions where lifters of very different bodyweights compete on the same platform, since a raw kilogram total alone unfairly favors heavier lifters. Powerlifters also track their own GL score over time as a bodyweight-independent measure of relative strength progress, separate from their absolute total.

This calculator takes your bodyweight, sex and total (squat, bench and deadlift combined), and returns your official IPF GL points score.
