About this calculator
This calculator estimates ham roasting time at 160°C (325°F) based on weight, following the same guideline culinary references use: roughly 15–20 minutes per pound (about 33–44 minutes per kg), adjusted for whether the ham is precooked or fresh. A precooked (city) ham only needs reheating to a safe serving temperature of about 140°F (60°C), while a fresh, uncooked ham must be cooked all the way to a food-safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) per USDA guidance, which takes considerably longer for the same weight.
Home cooks use it to time holiday roasts for Christmas, Easter, or Thanksgiving so the ham is ready when guests arrive, and caterers use it to schedule oven time across multiple dishes cooking simultaneously. Enter the ham's weight and whether it's precooked or fresh to get an estimated roasting time.
